MY VISION

Welcome to Chakshu! My name is Charlotte Guislain,
the designer behind each piece of jewelry.
I conceive my jewelry as amulets charged with energy, with powerful symbols that tell stories.
Inspired by my travels among peoples whose art fascinates me, such as the Chawis near Iquitos in Peru, the Huichols near Tequila in Mexico, the Cofans in Putumayo in Colombia, the Bishnois in Rajasthan in India, the Mandingos in Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso, I create pieces that celebrate the soul of the world.
The Chakshu collections dance around emblematic symbols: the Jaguar, the Scarab, the Serpent, the Ouroboros, the Third Eye and other inspirations: the Yoni, Aphrodite, the Virgin Mary, Ganesh, the Dragon, the Tiger… Each creation bears the trace of a ritual, a spirituality, an energy that crosses time and cultures.
At Chakshu, each piece of jewelry is made in small series, by talented craftsmen in France and around the world, respecting ancestral traditions. It’s a strong commitment: to offer a fair price, honor know-how and build human relationships based on justice and solidarity.
Welcome to my world, where each jewel is an invitation to discover a new story, charged with a unique energy, woven from threads from all over the world.

what my customers say

LAURA

I bought from Chakshu because I love ethnic design, which I find very interesting and aesthetic, and I especially like the ethical implications behind the project. I chose the Ouroboros earrings at the time, because I thought such a simple piece of jewelry revisited in this way was great, sober and elegant, with a bit of extravagance at the same time.

CÉCILE

It's the raw / delicate mix that I like so much. It's both wild and delicate. I chose the large Spiral earrings and the Ouroboros earrings. The earrings are the only jewelry I wear, and I like the fact that they're a bit bohemian. I think I just feel free wearing them.

MARINE

I bought your jewelry for three birthday presents, with the intention of buying from a designer in a short circuit. The portraits of the artisans and the embodiment of the jewelry touched me. Passionate about nature, I fell in love with the scarab necklaces, and the third eye jewelry for its symbolism and simplicity.

CAMILLE

I chose the snake ring for its symbolism, a nod to medical symbolism, as I'm a doctor. I don't wear much jewelry apart from my wedding ring, but it's the ring I like to wear for special occasions. I also like beetle pendants for the slightly subversive aspect of the insect talisman. For me, wearing the work of artisans is essential, for originality and maintaining know-how. I think you showcase these artisans well, and I like the simplicity of your texts.

MANON

I discovered your jewelry with the Säa ring while working in a café. A customer was wearing the ring and bracelet, and I liked them immediately. I love the finesse and quality of your jewelry. Ever since I put the ring on my finger, it's never left me. For me, it represents a mystical and feminine side. Personally, I'm more attracted to sober, authentic jewelry. I appreciate the sometimes "ethnic" side of your creations, which I find well-balanced and not culturally appropriated.

CÉLINE

I spotted your jewelry at the Welcome Bio Bazar in Paris. I found them beautiful, simple and refined. I liked knowing how the jewels were made, and how you worked to recognize the craftsmen's know-how and pay them a fair wage. This prompted me to order my first piece, which I've kept ever since, then a second, and so on. I find the rings extremely delicate and easy to wear. As for the scarab pendant, it has become an everyday companion, giving me strength.

FIND YOUR FINGER CIRCUMFERENCE EASILY

To make sure your jewelry fits perfectly, here’s a simple tip to find out your finger size at home:

Take a piece of string or a strip of paper and wrap it loosely around your finger. Make a mark where the string or paper overlaps. Using a ruler, measure the distance between the two marks. Multiply this result by 10 to obtain your size in millimeters.

Example: If you get 5 cm, your size is 50. If you get 5.4 cm, your size is 54.

RING SIZE MEASURING TOOL

For greater precision, we also offer a small ring size measuring tool which you can order.
