Maintenance tips

Each piece of Chakshu jewelry is unique, carefully crafted and made to last. To preserve its beauty and integrity, we recommend that you follow these care instructions:

AVOID WATER

Do not immerse your jewelry in water, as this can damage sensitive materials such as opals, which can discolor and turn black. In general, avoid contact with water.

PROTECT THE GILDING

The gilding may fade over time, depending on the acidity of your skin and exposure to the elements. To preserve the gilding, avoid wearing your jewelry during sports, gardening or any other activity that may expose it to chemicals or excessive friction.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS

Jewelry containing organic elements, such as beetles or coral, requires special care. Protect them from intense heat and chemicals that can alter their appearance. Beetles can discolor under high temperatures, such as hot water or hairdryers.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

To clean your jewelry, use a soft, dry cloth. If necessary, a light wash with lukewarm water and mild soap may be used. Avoid the use of hard brushes which could scratch or damage delicate surfaces. Ultrasonic cleaning is not recommended.

STORAGE

Store your jewelry in a cool, dry place, preferably in a soft box or pouch to protect it from scratches and moisture. Avoid storing them in damp places, such as bathrooms.

REDO THE GILDING

If you’d like to revive the gilding on your jewelry, we offer a re-gilding service in our workshops. Simply request a quotation, and we’ll be happy to restore your jewelry to its original lustre.

By following these tips, you’ll ensure the longevity and beauty of your Chakshu jewelry, for many years of enjoyment.

FIND YOUR FINGER CIRCUMFERENCE EASILY

To make sure your jewelry fits perfectly, here’s a simple tip to find out your finger size at home:

Take a piece of string or a strip of paper and wrap it loosely around your finger. Make a mark where the string or paper overlaps. Using a ruler, measure the distance between the two marks. Multiply this result by 10 to obtain your size in millimeters.

Example: If you get 5 cm, your size is 50. If you get 5.4 cm, your size is 54.

RING SIZE MEASURING TOOL

For greater precision, we also offer a small ring size measuring tool which you can order.
